Welcome to Plumerie

We built Plumerie because we kept running into the same problem: too many books, not enough memory.

Books borrowed and never returned. Duplicates bought because you forgot you already owned something. Friends asking "do you have anything good to read?" and you blanking on every title in your actual collection. That specific frustration of finishing a brilliant novel and having no one nearby to hand it to.

Plumerie is our answer to all of that.

What Plumerie does

At its core, Plumerie is a catalog for your physical books. You add them — by scanning an ISBN barcode, searching by title, or entering details manually — and they live in your library. Every shelf. Every room. Every book you own but haven't read yet. If you're setting up a home library for the first time, how to start a home library is a good place to begin.

From there, a few things become possible that weren't before:

Borrowing, tracked. When you lend a book, you log it. You see who has what, and when it's due back. No more "I think Sarah might have it?" followed by an awkward text.

The want list. Books you intend to buy, or want someone to gift you, or need to decide about. It's separate from your library, which keeps things clean.

Series tracking. If you're partway through a series, Plumerie knows which volumes you have and which you're missing. No more buying book 3 when you haven't finished book 2.

Reading status. Unread. Reading. Read. Simple enough to actually use.

Plumerie isn't a social network. It isn't a recommendation engine. It isn't trying to tell you what to read next based on your data. It's a tool for people who already love books.

What we're not trying to be

Plumerie isn't a social network. It isn't a recommendation engine. It isn't trying to tell you what to read next based on your data.

It's a tool for people who already love books and want a better way to manage the physical ones in their life.

Who it's for

Intentional readers. People who buy books deliberately and want to remember why. People with enough books that a list in their head no longer works. People who share books with friends or family and want that to be easy, not stressful. When you're ready to catalog what you own, how to catalog your book collection walks through the whole process.

If that's you, welcome. We think you'll feel at home here.
