How to install

Installing Plumerie

Plumerie is a progressive web app (PWA). Install it to your home screen for a full-screen, app-like experience — no App Store required.

On desktop, just open app.plumerielibrary.com in any browser — no installation needed.

Already have the Plumerie iOS app? Download it from the App Store. To install the web version on your home screen instead:

  1. 1.Open Plumerie in Safari on your iPhone or iPad.
  2. 2.Tap the Share button (the square with an arrow pointing up) at the bottom of the screen.
  3. 3.Scroll down in the share sheet and tap "Add to Home Screen."
  4. 4.Give it a name (or keep "Plumerie") and tap "Add."
  5. 5.The app icon appears on your home screen and opens full-screen like a native app.
  1. 1.Open Plumerie in Chrome on your Android device.
  2. 2.Tap the three-dot menu (⋮) in the top-right corner.
  3. 3.Tap "Add to Home screen."
  4. 4.Tap "Add" on the confirmation prompt.
  5. 5.The app icon appears on your home screen.

Create your account

Go to app.plumerielibrary.com and sign in with your Google account, or create an account with your email and a password.

That's it — your library is ready.

Add your first book

You have three ways to add books:

  • Scan a barcode — tap the scan button and point your camera at the barcode on the back of any book. Plumerie pulls the cover, title, author, and details automatically.
  • Search by title — type a title or author name and pick the right edition from the results.
  • Enter manually — if a book isn't in any database, you can add it by hand.

Set up your locations

Plumerie lets you track where your books physically live. Create locations like “Living room,” “Bedroom,” “Office,” or “Summer cabin.”

When you add a book, you pick which location it's in. Later, you can filter your library by location to see exactly what's on each shelf.

You can create up to 10 locations on the free plan.

Import your existing library

Already have your books listed somewhere else? You can import them.

  1. 1.Export your library as a CSV file from your current platform (Goodreads, LibraryThing, or any tool that supports CSV export).
  2. 2.In Plumerie, go to Settings and choose "Import from CSV."
  3. 3.Upload your file. Plumerie maps your data, pulls cover images, and adds everything to your library.

Some covers may not load automatically — this depends on the book's availability in Google Books and Open Library. You can add covers manually later.

Invite your family

If you want to share your library with your household:

  1. 1.Go to Settings → Family.
  2. 2.Generate an invite link.
  3. 3.Share the link with your family members.
  4. 4.They click the link, create an account, and join your shared library.

Everyone in the family sees the same collection. Each person can claim their own locations and switch between a personal view and the full family view.
